Monroe Telephone is looking for team members for entry level positions who are:

·        Reliable - regular, habitual, or industrious; able to be trusted to do what is expected or has been promised and to be accurate or to provide a correct result;

·        Personable - having a pleasant personality and appearance with a pleasant welcoming attitude;

·        Caring - compassionate or showing concern for others, mindful of the needs, wishes, and feelings of others;

·        Responsible - able to be counted on owing to qualities of conscientiousness and trustworthiness; and,

·        Mature - having a calm and steady temperament, rather than being excitable or given to apparently irrational behavior.

Qualified applicants must be able to:

  1.  Touch Type (to type without having to look at the keyboard) at least 40 wpm.

  2.  SPELL common (often occurring or frequently seen) words correctly from memory.

  3.  Speak clearly (in a way that is easy to hear and understand) using proper (polite and formal) English and follow instructions using common sense.

  4.  Multitask (to perform more than one task at the same time) – read, listen/speak, type, and think simultaneously.

  5.  Work with the Public – especially difficult (requiring a lot of effort to understand or deal with and may be hard to please) and/or demanding (placing great strain on somebody's patience, composure, or good nature) people.

  6.  Able to accept criticism – In order to learn to meet our high standards of quality you must be able to take a spoken or written opinion or judgment that points out what is wrong about something that is done, acknowledge that it is true including taking responsibility for an action by replying in the affirmative to acknowledge a fact or truth, and come to terms with it without protesting or making excuses.

We are a small, traditional telephone answering service that has been serving Southeast Texans since 1932.  Our culture is relaxed and casual, with a focus on providing quality service.  Our staff is just as important to us as our clients.  We are located on the edge of downtown Beaumont, a few blocks from MLK Parkway in our own secure building.
